That’s the thing people misunderstand about Ralph Lauren interiors.

It was never just plaid.
Or dark wood.
Or “library vibes.”

That feeling is designed — even when it looks effortless.

This condo didn’t need a complete renovation.

It needed clarity.

When my client moved in, nothing technically looked “wrong”… in fact it was a new build with great bones.
But the space still felt temporary.
Unfinished and lacking personality.

And honestly, that’s the feeling a lot of people struggle to articulate in their homes.

The truth is… she didn’t fully know what she wanted yet.

But through her existing pieces, vintage finds, and the way she talked about the reason for buying those items, I could start to see the atmosphere she was craving before she could fully articulate it herself.

So instead of starting with “pick a style” —
we focused on vibes first.

I think we are collectively exhausted.

Overstimulated.
Overexposed.
Constantly consuming.
Constantly performing.

As someone who designs homes for a living, I obviously care deeply about lighting, texture, atmosphere, layout…

But honestly? The spaces people remember most are usually the ones where they felt the most connected.

This weekend was a reminder of that for me 🤍

The older I get, the more I realize a beautiful space was never really about the decor.

It’s about the people inside it.

The conversations that last longer than expected. Dogs moving from person to person all weekend. Coffee turning into slow mornings. Blankets that somehow end up in every room. One more glass of wine. Kitchen dance parties and themed dinners. Everyone comfortable enough to fully exhale.

As someone who designs homes for a living, I obviously care deeply about lighting, texture, atmosphere, layout…

But honestly? The spaces people remember most are usually the ones where they felt the most connected.

I wish I could tell you I know how to “switch off” when I walk into a space 😂

But the truth is… the second I enter a room, my brain immediately starts rearranging furniture, changing lighting, swapping rugs, adding drapery, repainting walls…

But the truth is… the second I enter a room, my brain immediately starts rearranging furniture, changing lighting, swapping rugs, adding drapery, repainting walls…

And honestly? I don’t even think it’s about making things “perfect.”

one “nobody else would have picked that” moment
