Better late than never to introduce the Design trends for 2024! As a designer I usually love to wave bye to some trends and some I like to keep around as I feel they have a longer run in Design. This year we are seeing thoughtfully chosen offbeat colour, pattern tiles floor to wall & mixing styles but all while creating a cozy space. Curved furniture is still having a moment as is silver metals of last year. Here are just a few of the trends currently happening in 2024!

DARK WOOD

Blonde woods had their moment the past several years and the popularity in darker stained woods is rapidly growing. The rich warm feeling you get from deeper shades creates that coziness we are craving. It elevates black accents in a completely new way.

BIOPHILIC or NATURE INSPIRED

This design style has always been incorporated in Commercial environments but today we are seeing a strong movement towards residential inclusion. I think this can be credited from the awe factor of walking into the a trendy restaurant or hotel lobby and we want to create that feeling in our own homes. Adding lush plants and exotic woods, even if its just a bowl can accomplish this vibe.

HOME OFFICE

Resulting from the pandemic the home office is here to stay and we are going all out on its aesthetic. Personalizing it to be more appealing than a seat at the island or dining table is the goal. The design outcome is a more functional space generating better productivity. Custom furnishings and features walls for those Zoom calls are some of the details not to be overlooked.

MIX n MATCH STYLES

Mixing design styles is one of the best ways to really layer stories into your space which we don't get from one signature style and going all in. Mixing and matching different eras, palettes can be difficult but the key to this look is contrast. Modern & Traditional, Bohemian & Mid Century are a couple of pairings that work very well together.

Whatever Design trend you may add to your personal space, have fun with it and don't get too caught up in whether it appears you have professionally pulled it off. That's what we are here for.
